Pest Control is a dirty job. One that Mike Rowe – host of Dirty Jobs – would be proud to tag along on. On any given day, you can find us squeezing into dusty attics, in tight crawl spaces, on hands and knees in the dirt under a house, fighting off bees, cockroaches, spiders, mice…oh my!
If it’s creepy and crawly, we’ve probably been there, done that.
The question you might be asking is, why? Well, for Rory Clinton, owner and head technician of Shore-Line Pest Control, Inc., it’s really not about a love affair with bugs and getting dirty. It’s about providing a meaningful service for a community he loves. It’s putting his core values into action.
“See A Need, Fill A Need”
Rory was born and raised in Idaho so the Treasure Valley is home. In 2003 he saw a need in the community for a reliable, honest, and quality pest control service. He stepped up and began filling that need.
Back then, it was just Rory and a single service truck. But it didn’t take long for Shore-Line Pest Control to grow. In 2004 Shore-Line added weed abatement as an additional service offering. And the company began to hire technicians to help with a growing customer base.
Shore-Line operates by and maintains the core values on which it was founded – the old-fashioned values at the heart of our great state and community:
Core Value 1 – Hard Work
In today’s world, hard work is becoming more and more scarce. But at Shore-Line, it’s at the heart of our business. With hard work as the foundation for what we do, we challenge ourselves to continue learning the best ways to help you – our customers.
We work to improve our methods, our operating procedures, and to find better ways to serve you. And we surround ourselves with people who also value and practice hard work. We only employ men and women who will work hard for our customers so we can continue to serve you with integrity.
Core Value 2 – Quality Customer Service
Without our customers, we are nothing. You are the most important member of our team.
So we try to operate by the Golden Rule: Treat others the way you want to be treated.
When you call Shore-Line, we do our best to listen to your needs. We will not try to upsell you. We only offer additional services if we truly believe it will help your individual situation.
We know that when you are calling, it’s because you are in a desperate, creepy-crawly situation. We’ve been there. We’ve had the black widows lurking in our corners, the unending trail of ants, the annoying swarms of wasps, the disgusting mouse-droppings… (shudder – yep, it creeps us out too).
So we respond to your pest problem as quickly as possible.
And we don’t just treat and run. Part of our quality customer service is education, to help you prevent further problems.
We always stand behind the service we provide. If you aren’t happy, we aren’t happy. And we work to make it right.
Core Value 3 – Honoring Employees As Valued Members of the Team
You’ve heard that saying, “There’s no ‘I’ in team.” That’s kind of the way we run Shore-Line Pest Control, Inc. We are not just a business – we are a team. This begins with our hiring.
We only hire people we believe are honest and trustworthy. We will never send a technician your way that we wouldn’t send into our own homes.
Every person who comes to your door from Shore-Line is highly-qualified and licensed in both Idaho and Oregon. We have confidence in our employees and empower them to make decisions that best serve you, our customers.
Our team members are not just employees, they are members of the Shore-Line family. That means we encourage a strong work-life balance.
Like you, our team members are fathers and mothers, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters, and friends to people outside our company. We do what we can to help our employees be there for their kid’s school drop-offs and pick-ups, games, family vacations, and whatever else might come up in life.
And of course, we make time for some Shore-Line family fun. We fish, camp, and even have a couple of nights out on the town together.
When our team members are happy and know they are like family, they in-turn treat you like family. And you get amazing customer service.
“Blessed To Be A Blessing”
Small things matter. If you add to your community in small ways, over and over, it adds up to some pretty important change. We’re all in this thing together. And Shore-Line desires to be a force for positive change in our community.
We’ve been blessed with good friends, good customers, and a wonderful community. This is our home, where you and I choose to live and raise our families. It’s where we enjoy time with friends and loved ones.
It’s our goal to make our area safe and welcoming – one person at a time, one child at a time, one event at a time.
You just might catch a glimpse of the Shore-Line fleet at a parade, our logo on the back of a sport’s team t-shirt, or the presence of Rory, his family, and our technicians popping in at a community event.
Because if we can do our part to support the safety of one more child, improve the education of one more individual, or support one more family, we help pave the way for a happier, healthier (and dare we say, more pest-free) community. One you and I can be proud to live in.
